Hello, I'm robbie
Wedding Photographer
Some ten years ago, I picked up a borrowed DSLR (professional) camera for the first time. I took a lot of pictures this particular day of my nieces and nephews. When I reviewed those photos, almost all were blurry and/or unusable. Yet, there was one photo of my then-year-and-a-half-old niece. She stood by the sliding glass door, wide-eyed with nothing but a grand sense of wonder and sparkle in her eyes as she stared out into the expanse of the backyard. This photograph shaped my passion and my style. It's not just about technical skill. The real key is the emotion felt in the image.
With a military and government background, I've always relied on situational awareness for survival. That skill fits me perfectly in photography. It helps me capture fleeting moments that vanish in an instant. Although I do enjoy taking beautifully posed portraits, I take the most pride in capturing amazing candid portraits of people. To me, there is something about candid photos that truly encapsulates the real, timeless essence of a moment or person.
I am the person who gets along with everyone and can fit in with any group of people. Clients often say I quickly make them feel comfortable and at ease. I find this results in better more natural pictures. I am likely the calmest, most stress-free person you will meet. With weddings and events, schedules often fall behind. Anxieties rise, things go wrong, and small uncertainties appear. This is when I perform my best.
When I'm not photographing events, I love spending time with my son, my nieces and nephews. It keeps me feeling young. You can also find me in my garage shop, working on my next woodworking project. After a long day, you’ll find me relaxing with a good book. It’s usually about philosophy, history, psychology, or a random skill. I love learning just for the sake of learning.
My philosophy on life is fairly simple: Treat everyone first with kindness and compassion, as so many people are fighting unseen battles. Fine is the ugliest word, as we have come to ask “how are you” to merely ask, not because we truly care. I will always judge a person solely on how they treat others; everything else is just vanity.
Thank you for taking the time to get a glimpse into who I am. Feel free to reach out. Let’s discuss how I can help make your wedding or event a big success and capture all its beauty.
"It's not about me, it's about you! It's about your day, your vision, your event, the moment, your memories, and the beauty found within the twinkling of an eye, the warmth of a smile, a heartfelt embrace, the laughter of a young child as well as all those moments we cherish forever."
